Crashland - Maybe The Story So Far!

Never known to shirk the duties of a touring rock band, Crashland spent the year 2000 on the tour bus promoting their acclaimed debut album 'Glued'.

Having sharpened their teeth, and with a taste for more, Crashland were ready to attack 2001 with the same fervour that had earned them the reputation as one of the hardest working and best songwriting new groups in the country. Crashland

However, like many great bands in their early days Crashland encountered a few inevitable hiccups on the stoney road to success. Becoming increasingly frustrated by a record company who changed their minds and their personnel more often than a hotel changes its sheets, Crashland subsequently parted company with their bass player and their label.

Undeterred and in fact, more determined than ever Marc and Alex found themselves scouring the classifieds for a new bass player and within weeks had uncovered a gem. Bursting to take up the challenge Stuart Morgan was lured from London back to Bristol where Crashland locked themselves in the studio. After quickly realising that the old energy was there the boys realised that they could build on this formidable foundation and expand the sound. Thus once again gold was panned from the silt of the classified ads in the form of guitarist Nicky Fowler. With a hatful of new songs the four piece line up gave birth, not to a more mature or progressive Crashland, but to a more explosive one.

Indeed their first gig a four piece at the Cardiff Barfly was described as 'incendiary' and Crashland were once again buzzing with the energy of playing live, honing their new sound in a handful of UK and European dates. The highlight of which was supporting 'The Strokes' at a festival in Rotterdam, both bands bringing the tent down.

A new EP featuring 4 brand new tracks is to be released on Bristol's own Sugar Shack Records at the beginning of November. The tracks were recorded in Cardiff's infamous Famous Studios with Richard Jackson twiddling the knobs and sliding the faders. Their first new tracks as a four piece and their first new songs in a year. They will also be out and about in support of this release, so live news will follow.
