Love
Jungle continued to gain exposure and gigged extensively to
promote their debut album. Angela's image remained the focal point for
the band. With every costume she wore she became a different character
taking on a completely new persona. She customised second-hand clothes
creating garments with an almost historical elaboration combining
tartans, paisley, velvets and lace and nearly
always a hat.

The album was incredibly well received by the British music press and
Love Jungle recorded the follow up record, a single called Make me
special. The song was written about Angela's experience on "Jim'll
fix it" as a 9 year old. Love Jungle were featured in NME, Sounds,
Melody Maker, Record Mirror and Music Week.

Reviews...
.... A lyric almost bereft of
self-doubt, in fact full of positive feeling is a must for Top 40
success these days. I guess that Love Jungle hunger for that sort of
action and they'll surely get it.
(Underground 4/06/89)
.... Make me special, as the
title may suggest, deals with the pursuit of fame, the desire for
recognition and originally featured a label depicting Angela with Jimmy
Saville, taken all those years ago. With its slip-sliding guitar and
Harriet Sunday style frail vocals, surely it must be a hit.
(Simon Williams NME 29/7/89)
