Reading based Pitchblend was born in the summer of 2000 by Matt, Mark and Rich, with Alex joining the fold in 2002, after being voted 'Best Unsigned Band' by Kerrang! readers. Fed up with the dreary mediocrity of current rock music, the band set out to create a more emotional sound. Not content with the popular trend of quiet guitars, loud guitars, singy bits, shouty bits, Pitchblend sought to create more powerful music. Texture, dimension, distance, emotion: these are all traits of their unique signature sound.

Where many bands strive for originality, forgetting to write good music along the way, for Pitchblend, originality comes naturally. Ask them what genre they would call themselves, the only answer they can give you is "pass".

Dual guitar lines interweave with powerful, textural drums and smooth, warm bass and 'hairs-on-the-back-of-your-neck' vocals to create powerful sounds that can only be described as 'truly epic'. Recording all their material in their own home studio, Pitchblend hone their skills to a precise art, producing crafted aural stimulus. To label it would be to underestimate it.

With an average age of just 20, time is on their side. Confident as ever, Pitchblend are ready to make 2004 their year.
