As
Silence Falls
Sharing the hometowns of Hondo Maclean and Funeral For a Friend and having spent enough time performing alongside the likes of the aforementioned bands who have risen up and out of the thriving South Welsh music scene -
As Silence Falls, who are somewhat of a ‘local band super group’ to those in the know are infact a genuine proposition to join the UK’s metal elite.
Gravitating together from the ashes of past embryonic musical attempts,
ASF formed with the survivors of bands who as a whole were simply not able to cut it, but the resulting formation has brought together experiences and a new sense of urgency gained from making a myriad of previous mistakes.
Combining influences from the brutality of modern contemporary metal
(Chimera, Killswitch Engage) and forging them with the epic melodicism of the likes of The
Smashing Pumpkins and Coheed & Cambria, ASF are far from the melting pot of copyists flooding the area – instead the band have opted for a honest amalgam of styles – resulting in what one could say to be a ‘brutifully’ stimulating shot-to-the-arm of a genre currently lacking the amount of depth required to become something truly exciting.

Jan 2007 sees ASF’s call to arms hitting the streets – their self-titled debut 5-track mini album available on Sugar Shack Records. Recorded with acclaimed producer duo Jeff & Ginge (Ex-
Skindred / Dub-War) whose work has included Bullet for My Valentine’s ‘The
Poison’, at Notting Pill Studios, Newport. ASF have managed to capture a fantastic snapshot of the violent energy each track possesses, and acts as a fantastic primer to a band who truly have only touched upon the tip of their iceberg.
